PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid-state laser having only one pumping lamp and arranged such that no trouble occurs even when the waveform is controlled to rise instantaneously up to a high peak power of 300W or above.
SOLUTION : The solid-state laser comprises a laser medium 13 having a length capable of ensuring an excitation length not shorter than 4/3 of the excitation length when two pumping lamps are used and doped with a lanthanoid rare earth element such that the doping amount becomes symmetric on the opposite sides of the central axis of a laser material, a single pumping lamp 14 having a length corresponding to the laser medium 13, a condenser case 40 where the laser medium 13 and the pumping lamp 14 are arranged, respectively, at two focal axis positions of an elliptic condensing mirror 41 or a parabolic mirror, and a lamp drive power supply 30 applying the pumping lamp 14 with a voltage of 1.2 times or more of a voltage being applied to the pumping lamp when a plurality of pumping lamps are provided. |
