PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide rare earth-transition metal based alloy powder capable of obtaining high coercive force by removing a rare earth-rich phase from the surface of rare earth-transition metal based alloy powder obtained by a reducing diffusion method, to provide rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen based alloy powder which can sufficiently be nitrided and is improved in magnetic properties, and to provide their stable production methods.
SOLUTION : In the method of producing rare earth-transition metal based alloy powder including : a reducing diffusion stage where a rare earth-transition metal based alloy is synthesized by using a reducing diffusion method in which rare-earth metal is diffused into transition metal powder; a hydrogen treatment stage where the obtained reaction product with a rare earth element content (B) is charged to a sealed vessel and is subjected to hydrogen treatment; a washing stage where it is charged to water, and is subjected to washing; and a pickling stage where acid is added thereto, so that alloy slurry with a rare earth element content (A) is obtained, the rare earth element content (B) is 25 to 27 wt.%, and, in the pickling stage, the rare earth elements are eluted from the surface of the alloy so that the elution amount of the rare earth elements (B-A) satisfies 1.5≤B-A≤2.5. |
