PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a butadiene-based polymer which has a high content of a cis-1, 4 bond and a low content of a vinyl bond and whose molecular weight distribution is in a specific range.
SOLUTION : The butadiene-based polymer contains a 1, 3-butadiene monomer unit. The content of the cis-1, 4 bond and that of the vinyl bond in the 1, 3-butadiene monomer unit as measured by Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry are ≥98.0% and ≤0.3% respectively. The ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) of the polymer is 1.6-3.5. The polymer is manufactured by polymerizing monomers containing 1, 3-butadiene in the presence of a catalyst system containing a specific rare earth-containing compound at a temperature of ≤25°C. |
