A bonded magnet prepared by forming a mixture of a rare earth elementR - ironFe - nitrogen N based magnet material and a binder component into a desired magnet shape, characterized in that a R - Fe - N based magnet particle 11 constituting the magnet material has a surface nitrogen concentration in the region X1, wherein a depth from the surface is 100 nm or less, of 2 mass % or more. A bonded magnet comprising the above R - Fe - N magnet particle 11 is capable of exhibiting the high corrosion resistance being inherent in a R - Fe - N based magnet material. |
