PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a pulse light source for amplifying and outputting the pulse seed light from a seed light source without distorting the pulse shape of the pulse seed light.SOLUTION : The pulse light source 100 has a pulse seed light source 110 for generating pulse seed light having a fixed pulse width and a pulse repeating frequency and an optical fiber amplifier 120. The optical fiber amplifier 120 comprises a stimulation light source 123 for generating stimulation light, and a rare earth element doping fiber 121 to which the stimulation light from the stimulation light source 123 and the pulse seed light from the pulse seed light source 110 are inputted. The amplifier 120 stimulates the outermost-shell electrons of the rare earth element to an inverted distribution state by the stimulation light, and amplifies the pulse seed light by its inductive emission. The amplification capacity of the rare earth element doping fiber 121 is regulated so that the pulse seed light from the pulse seed light source 110 is amplified with a uniform gain over the whole pulse width. |
