PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a ceramic excellent in relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss, insulation resistance, etc., by decreasing a firing temperature by composing the ceramic out of a crystalline particles of barium-calcium titanate zirconate and a grain boundary phase containing a rare earth element oxide. SOLUTION : This dielectric ceramic is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. crystalline particles consisting essentially of a main component of composition formula (Ba1-x Cax )m (Ti1-y Zry )}O3 [0.01<=(x)<=0.10; 0.15<=(y)<=0.25; 0.99<=(m)<=1.02] with 0.2-3.0 pts.wt. glass component comprising a rare earth element oxide (without Y2 O3 ), SiO2 , and Li2 O or B2 O3 , and firing the obtained mixture at 1, 050-1, 250 deg.C. The glass component preferably comprises 2-50 mol.% rare earth element oxide (without Y2 O3 ), 20-88 mol.% SiO2 and 10-60 mol.% Li2 O or B2 O3 . The ceramic preferably contains 0.1-0.3 pt.wt. MnO2 based on 100 pts.wt. main component. |
