简介 |
The invention concerns a composition based on zirconium and cerium oxides in an atomic ratio Zr/Ce > 1, and further comprising lanthanum oxide or an oxide of a rare earth other than cerium and lanthanum. The invention is characterized in that after calcination for 6 hours at 1150 °C it has a specific surface area of not less than 10 m 2/g. The composition is obtained by forming a mixture containing a sol of a zirconium compound and cerium, lanthanum, said rare earth compounds, contacting said mixture with a basic compound solution, while heating and calcining the resulting precipitate. The composition can be used as catalyst.
