PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method by which a highly ignitable/combustible and yet strongly hygroscopic metallic iron powder-based oxygen-absorbing composition is kneaded and dispersed safely and economically into an olefinic resin without requiring special environment/equipment.
SOLUTION : A metallic iron powder-based oxygen-absorbing resin composition which has markedly reduced hygroscopicity and aggregation and in which a metallic iron powder-based oxygen-absorbing composition is stuck to the surface of a powdery resin is obtained by adding a polyolefinic resin powder to the metallic iron powder-based oxygen-absorbing composition which is prepared by mixing a metallic iron powder with an alkaline earth metal halide in an inert atmosphere and vigorously mixing the mixture without taking out the composition from the inert atmosphere. A highly oxygen-absorbing granular resin composition is prepared from the oxygen-absorbing resin composition by bringing its melt-kneaded extruded molding into contact with water for a short time, immediately cooling it by means of removing the adhering water and cutting it. |
