PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a compound suitable for a monomer for ophthalmology, good in compatibility with other (meth)acrylic monomers, and giving a polymer excellent in hydrophilicity, antifouling properties, and durability of mechanical strength, particularly a compound composed of one kind (including a structural isomer) having a specific structure by a large ratio, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION : The compound is represented by following formula (I) where m is 2-10, Ris a C2-7 alkylene group in which at least one H may be substituted by an unsubstituted/substituted C1-6 monovalent hydrocarbon group, a C1-6 alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or a cyano group, Rare each independently a C1-6 alkyl group, Ris a C1-4 alkyl group, and any one of X, Xand Xis a (meth)acryl group and remaining two of X, Xand Xare hydrogen atoms.SELECTED DRAWING : None |
