Provided is an Fe-based alloy composition whereby a gas atomization method can be applied and a soft magnetic material having an amorphous phase as the main phase thereof formed. The Fe-based alloy composition has a compositional formula FeaSibBcPdXe (a + b + c + d + e = 100 at%). X is any added element and is at least one type selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Re, platinum-group elements, Au, Ag, Cu, Zn, In, Sn, As, Sb, Bi, S, Y, N, O, C, and rare earth elements. The Fe-based alloy composition fulfils the following conditions : 77.5 at% ≤ a ≤ 78.5 at%; 2.2 at% ≤ b ≤ 8.5 × α at%; 2.5 at% ≤ c ≤ 15.4 × α at%; 4.4 at% ≤ d ≤ 15.4 × α at%; 0 at% ≤ e ≤ (1 - α) × (b + c + d); and 0.8 ≤ α ≤ 1.0. |
