PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare earth-iron-nitrogen based magnetic particles having a high intrinsic coercive force; and a magnetic particle.SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing magnetic particles of R(FeTi)N(where R represents at least one of rare earth elements including Y; and α, β and γ satisfy : 1.9≤α≤2.2; 0.005≤β<0.04; and 2.8≤γ≤3.2 respectively in terms of the atomic ratio) comprises the steps of : producing precipitate from a liquid solution including R ions and Fe ions including R ions and Fe ions; producing, from the precipitate, oxide particles including the R element and Fe element, of which the primary particle average diameter is 1 μm or less; producing a mixture by mixing the oxide particles with powder including Ti, and having an average particle diameter of 500 nm or less; and reducing the mixture. |
