PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an information recording medium in which perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of a rare earth metal in a rare earth-transition metal amorphous alloy film is increased, then, fine marks can be stably recorded in a magnetic recording film and high density of the information recording medium therefore can be attained.
SOLUTION : The information recording medium includes a magnetic film and a base film, wherein the magnetic film is formed on the base film. The magnetic film contains the rare earth metal and a transition metal, difference between an interatomic distance of the crystal face of the rare earth metal coming in contact with the base film and an interatomic distance of the crystal face of the base film coming in contact with the magnetic film is adjusted within 10% to each interatomic distance. Further, the magnetic film consists of the rare earth-transition metal amorphous alloy, the rare earth metal has a cubic dense structure, and the base film has a cubic crystal structure. |
